Sandusky City School District: Segment One Project

Sandusky, Ohio

The Sandusky City School District project includes the construction of three new schools.

The Intermediate School (grades 3-6) is a 141,591 sf two-story educational building with four basketball courts and a theater stage. It also features a global education center which is a full-service 21st-century computer and technology center allowing students in grades 3-6 and 7-12 to utilize the center for technology-based programs associated with the district’s STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) initiatives.

The Ontario School (grades 1-2) is a 67,282 sf two-story educational facility which includes a theatrical stage, new 65” smart monitors in all classrooms and a kitchen with commercial-grade equipment capable of serving hundreds of students.

Mosser’s sitework team worked closely with the project team early on, strategizing practical solutions that only a self-performing contractor can fully develop. Value and economy were improved through the team’s study of alternate design concepts, materials and methods without compromising the value and functions of each element.

Mosser was also awarded the $13.7 million, 56,646 sf new Hancock Elementary School project. It is scheduled to be complete in December 2021.
