Breaking New Ground: Launching BGSU’s Technology Engineering Innovation Center
September 27, 2024
It was a proud moment during BGSU Homecoming week as we joined President Rodgers and University Stakeholders for a groundbreaking celebration on a significant renovation to create state-of-the-art learning and research spaces to support programs in engineering and technologies. The facility will enhance student learning and experience, meet critical workforce needs, and provide flexibility for future growth and expansion. Congratulations to BGSU on this exciting project that is sure to make a tremendous positive impact on our community!
Mosser’s work on the project consists of selective demolition of the existing Technology Building, renovation and addition for a new approximately 73,000 sf center. The new Technology Engineering Innovation Center will act as a central hub for various departments within the University’s College of Technology, Architecture, and Applied Engineering. It will include academic labs focused on robotics, advanced manufacturing, metals and machining, Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology (ECET), Building Information Modeling/Computer-Aided Design (BIM/CAD), and visual communication.
The center will also include offices for faculty and staff, as well as support areas aimed at improving effective teaching, learning, and modern office practices in the 21st century. The lab spaces will be designed to be flexible and interactive, reflecting advanced manufacturing business principles and providing a collaborative atmosphere for research prototyping.
Mosser is honored to serve as the Construction Manager at Risk for the BGSU-TEIC and has been actively collaborating with the University and Design Team to maximize the budget and ensure project objectives are met. We are excited to proceed full steam ahead toward the construction of this beautiful facility!
