City of Bowling Green Administrative Services Building Project

In the New Construction Under $50 Million category, Mosser took home the bronze and marble award for its work on the City of Bowling Green Administrative Services Building project. In 1913, the City took pride in its grand new post office, which remained vacant for many years before eventually being repurposed as a senior center. Behind it stood a 1901 school, which was converted into a library and later the City’s administrative offices. This history played a key role in the challenges faced in the City of Bowling Green Administrative Services Building project which included preserving the post office façade, demolishing the rest, and constructing a new 31,000 sf facility.

Despite setbacks such as the 2022 market volatility, procurement delays, workforce shortages, and unforeseen site conditions, Mosser’s extensive planning and creative value engineering brought the project in on budget. In fact, the team’s innovative approach even allowed for the addition of a rooftop patio to the final scope, enhancing the building’s functionality and aesthetics.

City of Toledo Collins Park Water Treatment Plant Improvements Project

In the Build Ohio Awards Industrial/Heavy category, The Kokosing/Mosser Joint Venture was recognized with the prestigious award for the City of Toledo Collins Park Water Treatment Plant High Service Pump Station Improvements project. The Collins Park Water Treatment Plant, built in 1941, had not seen any major process overhauls since 1956. In 2012, the City of Toledo launched a program to complete significant upgrades over 10 years.

The High Service Pump Station Improvements was one of the final projects of this program. The project scope included refurbishing four of six pumps, five motors, and all discharge piping cone valves and gate valves. Simultaneously, the Pump Station building was renovated, including upgrades to the Superintendent’s Office, Operators Station, and locker rooms. Additional work involved masonry restoration, roof, and window replacements, and addressing structural issues.

"The projects we were up against in both categories were outstanding, each with its own set of unique challenges and innovations. It’s a true honor to be recognized not only for the obstacles both of our project teams successfully overcame, but also for their exceptional work, dedication to quality craftsmanship, and unwavering commitment to meeting the clients' needs."

- Brian Geffe, President/CEO of Mosser Construction, Inc.
