Toledo Public Schools: Waite High School Renovation

Toledo, Ohio

This multi-phased renovation was completed while the school building was occupied and operating. The scope of work included the exterior and interior renovation of the high school through the Ohio School Facilities Commission.  The $20 million project included new technology, air conditioning, paint, technology, lighting, electrical, windows, doors, and ceilings.

Auditorium renovations included new flooring, replacement historic aluminum windows, and new HVAC system. Existing draperies were cleaned and restored, and the stage curtain was replaced. Existing seating was restored to as-new condition using the original seat frames. Despite these and other upgrades, Waite High School alumni remain closely involved in the project to ensure that the school’s renowned historic architecture was not lost, destroyed, or covered during the renovation.
