The Landing - Project Update

Mosser is proud to be part of the design-build team helping bring The Landing to life. Work is well underway across the 27-acre public waterfront park, with crews advancing several of the project’s signature features, including the wooden walkway and bridge that will connect the Sandusky Bay Pathway with the park. This connection is an important step in creating a more accessible and inviting trail system for residents and visitors.
Structural steel is also being installed for the Canopy Walk, an ADA-accessible elevated walkway that will give visitors a new perspective of Sandusky’s back bay from above the landscape. Nearby, pilings are being placed for the phragmites walkway, which will guide visitors through the reed grasses and wetland setting while helping protect the surrounding habitat. Despite weather impacts and evolving vendor timelines, the project team has worked collaboratively to maintain momentum, keep the project on schedule, and continue hitting key milestones.
Once complete, The Landing will include trails, boardwalks, kayak launches, a pavilion, playground, pedestrian bridges, restored wetland areas, and a key connection to the Sandusky Bay Pathway. Completion is currently expected in spring 2027.
We are grateful to the City of Sandusky for their continued partnership throughout this project. Their team has brought the same pride, care, and commitment to The Landing that we have, and that shared dedication, strengthened by the value of the Design-Build partnership, is helping shape a lasting public space for the Sandusky community. Facing a budget that was several million dollars over target, the team aligned early and worked collaboratively to identify cost solutions without compromising intent, resulting in a project delivered within budget while retaining the features critical to maximizing its community impact.
As construction continues, Mosser remains focused on building the project safely, efficiently, and with care for the natural environment that makes The Landing such a unique addition to Sandusky’s waterfront.
