Work Begins on The New Kelly’s Island Pedestrian Bridge

April 25, 2022

It was a beautiful day for the first concrete pour on Kelly’s Island last week! Mosser is currently completing the center pier foundation and the forward and rear abutments in preparation for the new pedestrian bridge that will overlook the grooves.

Planning is everything when working on an island that requires ferry transport. In fact, our workforce and material and equipment shipments utilize the same ferry that the passengers and tourists arrive on. Also, due to space constraints, Mosser will have to do more “just in time” type deliveries to minimize the occupied space at the Grooves. All concrete and material deliveries are scheduled days in advance to ensure availability and timing of the ferry.
