Nick Jakab

Nick Jakab came up through the trades with Mosser from Carpenter Foreman to Superintendent. He’s been working in construction for the past 20 years, 12 of those with Mosser. When you ask co-workers about Nick, there is just so much admiration for him, it’s easy to see why Mosser put him in a leadership position. His willingness to learn new aspects about construction allowed him to have a huge range of construction sector experience from wastewater treatment to highway to industrial. Nick is always up for a challenge. Some projects you may recognize that Nick has worked on include: The Ohio Turnpike Exit 49, Spartan Chemical, Johnson Controls, City of Toledo Bayview WWTP, and currently, Ashley Courthouse and Annex just to name a few.

This is the time of year when many of us count our blessings and Nick has many including his wife, Tristan, whom he’s been with since they were seniors in high school, and his 8-year-old son Lynkin. They live on a 5-acre wooded paradise that they share with their French bulldog and yellow lab, Margo and Schembo. He also enjoys fishing and traveling.

Another blessing is that big win for Michigan last week! Yes, Nick is a huge football fan and loves attending the games, his favorites are Michigan and the Lions. Although, he did attend the University of Toledo and has been known to cheer on the Rockets with his family.

But this year, Nick is thankful for another kind of blessing, a much-needed kidney donation. In 2021, Nick received a kidney from his sister, Laura, and was back to work in just 8 weeks. Mosser is thankful to have such a skilled superintendent and we are thankful to Laura for such a priceless gift. If you are thinking about becoming an organ or tissue donor, this can be done by saying “yes” when receiving your driver's license or state ID, online, or by completing and returning an enrollment form.
