Ohio Contractors Association, Mosser, and Community Partners Lead Revitalization Effort in Toledo's Old South End
When the Ohio Contractors Association (OCA) recently set out to embark on another community project, Chris Carry, Mosser’s Sitework and Highway Department Manager and Community Service Chair for the OCA Northwest Ohio Chapter, reached out to Chris Amato, President of the Historic South End Initiative in Toledo, a group that the OCA supported in the past as part of a community outreach opportunity in Toledo’s Old South End. On that volunteer project, Mosser, in addition to several other OCA member contractors, participated in the removal and re-installation of sidewalks and the restoration of lawns around the sidewalks in the Old South End. It was just the start of cultivating a more community-like feel for the neighborhood.
On this recent project, OCA member volunteers again supported the Old South End revitalization by enhancing the sidewalks on Western Avenue, providing ADA accessibility, as well as repurposing various areas within the neighborhood–again, creating an even deeper sense of community and user-friendly atmosphere. Having the right team of contractors in place for this project was key to making a major positive impact on the Old South End community. Joining Mosser in this volunteer endeavor were fellow OCA members Kokosing Construction, Vernon Nagel, Inc., Crestline paving, E.S. Wagner Company, Green Earth Ohio, the Shelly Company-All Ohio Ready Mix and the Gerken Companies-Kuhlman Corp.
