Ohio Logistics: CNG Truck Maintenance Facility
Findlay, Ohio
The project site was located on a field south of the existing Ohio Logistics warehouse. The project involved site-work which included running new water, sewer, electric and gas utilities to the building and grading of the site to prepare the area for the construction of the new building. Mosser installed concrete foundations and grade beams for the pre-engineered metal building as well as constructed the 7’-4” high CMU walls around the exterior of the building.
One bay of the building is a 25’ x 85’ office area with 11’-0” high CMU walls which supports the bar joist, metal deck and a concrete floor above the office to create a mezzanine area for storage. The next three bays of the building are open for the truck maintenance shop area. The last bay is an enclosed wash bay with a metal liner panel. Eight inches of concrete floors with steel fiber reinforcing were installed in the shop and wash bay areas.
Since this truck maintenance facility repairs diesel and compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles, a special gas detection system was built into the facility that will set off the fire alarm, open the overhead doors and turn the main exhaust fan onto “high” to remove the gas from the building.
