Ross High School Track Facility
Fremont, Ohio
Working closely with the CM at Risk, Mosser served as the General Contractor on this highly anticipated new field and track complex for Fremont Ross High School. In addition, Mosser provided preconstruction services that included constructability reviews, value engineering, and preparation of project budgets.
The project kicked off in July 2019 and was originally scheduled to be completed in April 2020. However, Mosser was able to finish the track in October of 2019, just three months after breaking ground. The team was able to complete the project ahead of schedule by having multiple crews working on different areas at the same time whenever possible. The earthwork portion of the project utilized a pull pan operation which sped moving dirt to the appropriate locations on the site. Mosser also brought the project in under budget by carefully monitoring production levels and using fluid communication among team members to determine where it was best to add or subtract additional manpower.
The new track and field complex includes a full running track, two long jump pits, two high jump areas, practice football field and a spectator viewing area. Surrounded by the new running track, Mosser raised the elevation of the center of the football practice fried by 1 ½’ to allow for proper drainage of the area. Mosser also self-performed other aspects of the project including sitework, and storm water drainage system installation which included 15 catch basins, over 1000’ of underdrains and over 1000’ of HDPE pipe. To properly drain the running track Mosser also installed 1200’ of the ACO Channel Drain system.
