Clean Tech Azalia Road Expansion

Dundee, Michigan

Mosser constructed the original facility in 2011, which was designed to accommodate a future addition by building the docking and storm water systems to be tapped into for expansion. The 20,000 sf expansion project included six new dock doors and industrial doors between the new and existing building for easy access. The addition also features an ESFR fire suppression system and new pump, factory mutual compliance, and foundations for the reactor, equipment, and silos.

Mosser’s pre-construction services, pre-planning, and clearly defined scope-of-work allowed the team to work quickly and efficiently, therefore completing the project earlier than originally scheduled. Because of this, Clean Tech was able to add additional foundation work to the project scope. Further exceeding the owner’s expectations, Mosser created innovative solutions to maintain specific levels of air quality and reduce debris to allow the existing facility to remain operational.

Work inside the existing facility included replacing equipment foundations and hanging partitions to segment off the areas under construction. These partitions were floor-to-ceiling, in some areas totaling 50’ high. Since all of the work had to be dust-free, the team utilized these partitions, wet saws, performed frequent vacuuming, and coordinated the demolition and excavation of the existing foundation with the owner to ensure the proper ventilation system was in place. Communication during the interior renovations was extremely important so as not to compromise the quality of the products the owner was producing during construction.
